The Man with The Whistle
Verse 1
I can see it standing there a silhouette to make me proud
Ten thousand foot-prints you can't see
That the crowd have left be-hind
We would sit and drink our tea watch the Lilywhites play free
And the memories they flow
More than Eighty years ago
Chorus
And the man with the whistle Keeping peace and calm
And the man with the whistle Knows when time is done
And the man with the whistle
Blows it to bring all the people together
And the man with the whistle
Hands it on Hands it on to you
Verse 2
I remember chasing birds as I cycled into town
And the swimming pool outside
Is still frozen in my mind
There are many things I see
What the future holds for me
A bit of country it looks fine
In this City that is mine
Chorus
We belong standing together side by side
Yes we belong standing together side by side
Building our community
Chorus
We've got the whistle
We're Keeping peace and calm
And we've got the whistle
We know when time is done
And We've got the whistle
We'll blow it to bring all the people together
And we've got the whistle from now on then hand it on hand it on
